Understanding How Fitness Exercises Burn Fats

There are many benefits to doing fitness exercises regularly.  In fact, you can call these benefits “the wonders of exercises”.  Yes, you will enjoy wonderful benefits when you exercise regularly.  But of course, you know that.  You have probably heard how exercise can revitalize your body, burn fats and reduce serious health risks like cancer, diabetes and heart ailments.  Exercise is seemingly the best answer to practically all kinds of health problems.

Perhaps, you will truly appreciate the benefits of fitness exercises if you know how they affect your body.  How do they burn fat?  How do they create energy?

Everyday, people function because of energy.  It is something that everyone needs in order to stay alive.  Now, food fuels the body with carbohydrate, fats and protein.  These three are actually the three sources of energy.  However, these three should be first converted into adenosine triphosphate (ADP) before they can be use as energy.  The body sources energy in three ways.  It can tap on the ADP already stored in your muscles.  Secondly, it can convert carbohydrates into energy via anaerobic metabolism.  The body can also convert fats into energy via aerobic exercises.  This is the third process.

Now, fitness exercises helps in burning fats and building muscles.  Aerobic exercises like bicycling, swimming, jobbing and speed walking raise a person’s heart rate which in turn, prompts the body into a state of aerobic metabolism.  The body then uses stored fats and converts the same into energy.  This is how fats are burned.  The longer your body is in this state, the longer it will be able to burn fats.

The benefits of fitness exercises that are anaerobic in nature occur after one has ceased exercising.  This has to do with your basal metabolic rate or BMR.  This is minimum caloric requirement that the body requires in order to sustain life.  This is responsible for burning up to 70% calories.  Of course, the percentage varies individually depending on various factors like age and gender.  The person’s kind of diet also comes into play.  Anaerobic exercises build lean mass.  These exercises also increase BMR which in turns burns calories.  This is why if you would like to burn fat while you sleep, you should do some anaerobic exercises before you go to bed.

You need to understand how fitness exercises help in burning fats.  If you are battling bulges and fats, it will surely benefit you if you know how everything works.  This way, you will know exactly what exercises will help you best.
