thumbnail.aspx?q=422459741154&id=958f6c7The importance of breakfast can never be overemphasized. In fact, we need to emphasize it again and again. If you are one of those people who often skip eating their morning meals, you need to re-evaluate your diet.

There are a lot of health benefits to eat a healthy meal in the morning. If you don't know these benefits, you are likely wondering what makes this meal different from the two other meals. People often skip breakfast. They pack a huge lunch and they follow this up with a huge dinner. This is definitely not the best way to go about ensuring one's health. You will still be able to lose weight even if you eat a huge meal in the morning. This is not the case, however, if you skip this meal and opt for lunch and dinner.

In order to understand the importance of breakfast, you need to understand how it influences your metabolic rate. Perhaps, you have heard of basal metabolic rate. Unfortunately, there are many people who do not understand what this means. Basal metabolic rate basically refers to the body's ability to burn fats and consumes energy even if you are rest. Some people BMR is very fast. This is probably why you hear some people say that they can "eat anything without going fat!" You probably have uttered, "Some people have all the luck!"

Now, you can enjoy a faster metabolic rate if you would eat your breakfast. You're probably thinking, "How is that possible?" The mechanics is fairly simple. Your BMR is at its peak during the morning. Eating a healthy meal will give your metabolic rate a "jump-start". You will also be able to burn a big meal faster than you would burn a big lunch or dinner. Just as long as you eat healthy foods and you exercise regularly, you have better chances of increasing your metabolic rate.

Of course, an increased metabolic rate is just one of the many benefits you will enjoy. There are still several long and short term benefits to it. For one, it helps boost your energy. It also promotes proper brain function. You won't feel as tired or as grumpy as you usually do. Ironically, eating breakfast actually helps in promoting weight loss. This might seem a paradoxical truth, but it's the truth. There are logical explanations however. For instance, you won't feel as hungry.

Again, the importance of breakfast can never be overemphasized. Of course, there are still many other benefits to eating healthy food in the morning. There is no reason why you can't enjoy them.
